Change your LinkedIn password now

In case you haven’t heard, some 6.5 million LinkedIn password were leaked. If you want to find out if you were one of the unlucky millions, go to LeakedIn and find out.

Even if your password wasn’t leaked, it’s still not a bad idea to just go ahead and change it.

By the way, now’s a good time to look at how you manage your passwords. Strong passwords will save you lots of headaches later. I would guess managing passwords is the the biggest obstacle to security. There’s a solution for that—get a a password manager. There are several programs available, but I’m a fan of 1Password. I’ll spare you the sales pitch, but in short, it creates strong passwords and saves them for you. There are versions available for most platforms and you can sync your passwords using DropBox.

It’s completely worth the extra step or two it takes to use a password manager.
